BWLDR Ethics

Beyond a devotion to premium design, we are committed to socially responsible business initiatives for the future of fashion. Through the considered sourcing of fabrications, support of an ethical supply chain and conscious avoidance of harmful chemicals, we endeavour to maintain the ethical production and distribution of our products.

We value complete transparency, holding globally recognised certifications and conducting audits from independent bodies that measure a range of indicators including social initiatives, environmental impacts, supply chain management and economic impact. Our fundamental ethos is to unite the concept of accessible, luxurious fashion and environmental and social responsibility in the Australian and global fashion market.

OUR SUPPLIERS

Labour and Health & Safety

People are at the core of our business and we are committed to ensuring the quality of the working conditions of everyone involved in our production process. Our factories are SMETA audited by an independent third-party auditor. SMETA is a high-quality audit that encompass all aspects of responsible business practice to guarantee the quality of the health and safety and working conditions of the people involved in the production of our products. The audit also takes into consideration business ethics and the environmental impact of production. The audit covers:

Labour Standards: wages, working hours, children and young employees, freedom of association, non-discrimination, forced labour and human rights

Health & Safety: management, training, emergency and fire safety and worker health

In addition, we take measures to ensure and adhere to the Modern Slavery Act 2018 and constantly seek to improve our practices in all areas of this audit.

Environmental Impacts

We have responsibility to contribute to environmental sustainability to secure not only the future of our industry, but our planet. Our factories are audited to comply with ISO 14001 standards. This audit is carried out by a third-party company and specifies processes for the control and the continuous improvement of our environmental performance. It requires the development of an environmental policy that reflects our commitment to continuously improve our practices to ensure that we reduce our environmental impact. This audit covers:

Environment: environmental management, waste, raw materials, water, energy and pollution

Business Ethics: bribery and corruption

TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS

Carbon Offset

Our logistic practices are carbon positive. To offset our carbon emissions, we plant 187 native Australian trees per month.

SYDNEY HEAD OFFICE & WAREHOUSE

Green Biz

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact in our local operations. Our Australian warehouse and head office have a Gold GreenBiz Certification. The Greenbiz Check covers energy, water, waste, recycling, transportation, procurement and supply chain. To receive a gold rating, a company needs to receive a score above 80% across these criteria. We are currently working towards our BCorb certification and aim to have this awarded by the end of the year.

Our effort to certify our commitment to environmental and social responsibility reflects the ethos of our business to produce accessible, luxurious fashion within the parameters of these responsibilities. We hope for a future where these certifications are an industry standard, congratulations are not deserved for meeting these standards, they should be expected of all companies to ensure the sustainability of the Australian and global fashion market.
